Sunday Gratitude: Sacred Circle

This morning, I am deeply grateful for a special circle of people ~ friends ~ fellow souls ~ soul mates that I have the big honor and pleasure to be a part of. This circle has become a very important part of and in my life.

Each and every single one of these beautiful souls is a shining light to me!

They lead by simply being who they are ~ and by their courage and willingness to become even more of who they are, by fully growing into and filling out this gorgeous * beautiful * radiant being they are. They guide by allowing themselves the courage to explore new experiences, new sensations, to move up, above and beyond into new realms of existence.
These souls lead, carry and support.
They comfort, motivate, challenge.
They have the guts to meet and sit with their emotions, patterns of behaviour, their past, to re-encounter past negative (sometimes traumatic) experiences, to question them, to question themselves and to reconcile with what has been and with themselves, too.
They are willing to share their thoughts, their dreams, their fears, their anxieties, their hopes, their visions.
They spread joy and fun.
They allow themselves to giggle, to laugh and they let their tears flow if they feel like it.
They give freely in so many incredible ways. These souls radiate so much support, understanding and loving warmth … that I’m always amazed how lucky I’ve been … how lucky I *AM* to have met these special beings.
To be in this circle feels cozy and comfy. Being given the room to speak or to be quiet. Having the right to talk and the right (and joy!) to listen with your every fibre. To see and feel in which ways we connect with each other, how things fall into place sometimes, to receive the impulses that you’ve been craving so badly unexpectedly, to observe the wonderful weave we are creating, the net we are weaving.
This circle has the ability to carry one another, it is there for you but it doesn’t take from you. It gives in abundance, yet it doesn’t expect nor demand anything … it gives you time and space, a sacred room to simply *BE*.
I’m feeling deeply grateful and touched by all that we share, by the richness and abundance, by the sacred circle we’ve become, by the beauty that we *are* and by the wonderful energies we conjure up together.

I carry all and each and every one of you in my heart! It is my deep wish and hope that one day, I may return something of that which all of you are giving me!

With all the magic sparkles of my soul, I THANK *YOU*!

Alle meine Verwandten!
Mitakuye Oyasin!

Going hairclip crazy …

… or how do you call staying up till 3:30 am … YES! A – M! to finish a new hairclip dressed in embroidered felt, drop dead tired, eyes squinting now and then, the occasional yawn of course, pausing & musing about whether to call it quits now, and then continuing and even undoing stitches if you’re not really happy with their position … simply because you just can’t seem to be able to stop? Yep, definitely weird, I know! ;o)) *Especially*, when there’s no dead-line that needs to be met with this …. aarrrghhhh! It was lots of fun though.
And I got to experimenting some more with a for me new stitch as I have only started using the lazy daisy stitch recently. And I have to say, I quite enjoy using this stitch! So here the result of my late-late crafting night (which very likely is not going to be the last loooong night *smiles*):

And what can keep *YOU* up till the wee morning hours?
Happy & relaxing Saturday!

More goodies

And a little “relaxation crafting” thrown in for fun

*big smiles*

Giving snap hair clips a felt “dress” is not a new idea … but I found it totally cute when I first saw it. And being the crafty person that I am, I wanted to give it a try myself. Take that plus a cute little 4 year old girl in the family who is in her “pink phase” right now. Add the knowing that she loves hair accessories and you have? Me figuring this may be a nice little surprise for her. Hope she will like it. More designs are in the making … with pony tail holders to match. ;o)

♥ Have a fun week-end! ♥

Here’s a tiny preview of things to come. Hope to see you on Wednesday! ;o))

Felt cookie selection

Yesterday was cookie “baking” time ;o)

The set is still in progress as there are still some more cookies to be added! And of course, a nice gift box to go along with them. Pix of the finished set to come soon!

Quick update: … the cookie selection is growing! ;o)

So much crunchy apple goodness

Just look at all of this deliciousness …

… turning into dried apple slices: unfortunately, the sun is not strong enough any more for air curing the apples, I tried but it didn’t work, so I had to use the oven method.

… into apple sauce and jams:

apple jam with Calvados (a French apple brandy) and apple jam with fresh thyme so far … yum!

… and of course: fresh apple cake! This here is probably one of the best apple cake recipes ever – delicious, light, juicy, tasty … ahhhh, how I cherish fresh local apples!

A crunchy, apple-y fall week-end you all!

Oh oh – I’ve been tagged!

I have just been “tagged” by the lovely Jen. Oh, oh. ;o)

The tagging rules & the people I want to tag will follow a bit later today … and I will have to come up with a few facts about moi, too… ;o)

Thanks, Jen, for including me in your tagging list. I think this will be fun!

See ya later!

Fall Craftiness

My first mitt — used to be a half-finished 2nd sock *ahem* but I ran out of that particular wool *double ahem*. And as the wool had been purchased some years ago and had been lying around for a while *triple ahem*, naturally I couldn’t re-stock it any more.

So I figured: just undo a few rows & finally knit some mitts for those loooong hours spent at the computer.  They are totally cosy and comfy. Now, all i have to do is, knit the second mitt (for which I will have to undo part of sock #1   ;o))

Red & white felt heart ornaments – can you tell that the X-mas season is ahead? This is a little sneak peek for some new items to be listed in my Etsy shop soon.

Little elf shoe based on the free pattern so sweetly & generously provided by Jenny B. Harris of AllSorts – thank you, Jenny! I was totally enchanted by these little elf shoes as soon as I lay my eyes on them.

There’s also an elf clog Flickr Group – go check it out. You will find some stunning designs for these little shoes.

Another first mitt – knitting mitts can be addictive, just like knitting comfy socks.

* * * * *

And as if I weren’t already doing enough various crafting techniques as it is, now I have dipped my toes into wet felting as well. I want to sew felt items like baby shoes etc. and simply prefer using pure wool felt for the little ones’ skin. Trouble was: I couldn’t find any wool felt sheets locally. So …. deep sigh … give me some wool and let me felt my own felt rectangles… Below you see my very first attempt (the orange one) and the second attempt on the left.

One ball is wet felted, one is needle felted  – can you guess which one is which? * smiles*

Published!

Okay folks, I have to admit: I’m quite a bit excited!

Last week, I received my copy of this brandnew book here …

… aaaaaaaand??? One of the articles is accompanied by some of my illustrations!

Double & triple woohoos … feels awesome to be published – and it’s a premier, too! ;o))

PS: For those wondering what the book is about: it’s a book on therapeutic play (“play therapy”) as a means in remedial teaching/ therapeutic pedagogy.
